Hooray! It was fun, but I’m glad I’m done.  Continue reading

31 Day nail challenge-Day 30!

Inspired by…a tutorial!

I used the Ikat Print Nails!!! tutorial from Youtuber MissJenFABULOUS. If you’ve never watched any of her videos, you should. She’s gorgeous, and seems like a super nice girl. Here’s her video

I used a nameless raspberry coloured polish from Nicole by OPI, Lickety Split Lime from Sally Hansen, and black and white striping polishes from KISS.

Inspired by…the supernatural!

This was the best thing I could come up with. Zombie nails. I like how they turned out. I’m sure they could’ve been better though. My love of the show, The Walking Dead basically inspired me to do these nails. If you haven’t seen this show, you really need to. It’s awesome. I don’t really remember what polishes I used for this, but if you want to recreate it, just pick a few muddy colours, with a green mixed in. I used a sponge to apply the polish so that it looked more skin-like. I used a toothpick to “dribble” on the blood. Enjoy!

(I left the mess around my cuticles to add to the effect, so don’t worry!)

31 Day nail challenge-Day 28!

Inspired by…a flag!

You would think that I would’ve gone with the Canadian flag since I’m Canadian. You thought wrong. Have you ever tried to draw a maple leaf and had it look perfect? Didn’t think so. I went with Jamaica. I’ve never been there, but the food from that place is incredible. (If you live in Vancouver or Victoria, go here!) I picked it mostly because I liked the colour combination. (Also, it was easy without being too simple.)

I used 2 polishes from Sephora and a black striping polish from KISS.

Inspired by a pattern.

I think I may have gone a little simple with this one, but I sort of feel like my creative juices are starting to dry up. I went with checkerboard. It was an easy one to do, and it didn’t turn out too bad. I used “Baby” Blue from Nicole by OPI and a purple Sephora polish for the stamping. I’m glad I didn’t do the pattern over the whole nail. I like it much better on just part of it.

31 Day nail challenge-Day 25

I’m back! Sorry it’s been so long. Work and my birthday and just not having the motivation to be creative made my blog suffer. I’m back on track though and I’m excited about upcoming posts (not nail polish related!).

Today’s mani is inspired by fashion. I thought for a while about what to do with this one and came up with something simple, but iconic. (In my opinion anyway).

I used Black Out from Sally Hansen and Red Red from Wet n Wild.
